After months of waiting in the unknown, it appears that Michael Brantley will be back in action TONIGHT. He’ll be playing for the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, the Astros AAA affiliate. UH OH THAT SOUNDS LIKE MICHAEL BRANTLEY’S MUSIC.
This season has been a whirlwind with injuries across the entire team, and Michael Brantley hasn’t even stepped on the field after signing a new deal with the Astros during the offseason. It’s been a long ride for our smooth swinging left fielder, and I personally can’t wait to see him back in Minute Maid Park. He’s a fan favorite and seems to be a locker room favorite in Houston as well.
With the Astros Michael Brantley has posted a .832 OPS (league average is around .700) and has had some of the most memorable moments in Astros postseason history. If the Astros can add a bat of Brantley’s caliber to the lineup, it’s going to be a movie.
