First, I want to preface that every stadium in this top ten has a good atmosphere but the list itself misses the mark. Bryant-Denny, Ohio, and Sanford Stadium are grueling for opposing teams. However, they are more difficult because the programs are dominant rather than the hostility from crowd noise.
Penn State should be in the top 3 next to Texas A&M and LSU. Even when Penn State was down a decade ago, no one felt comfortable walking into Beaver Stadium. Add that with a night environment like the White-Out and its top tier.
Camp Randall is a great stadium but their attendance can be hit or miss. Wisconsin is notorious for students showing up late to games, and even a quiet crowd depending on the opponent. Oklahoma being included is also strange. Nothing against Sooner fans, but it’s not that intimidating. They have passion, but I can’t picture them being a top 10 hardest place to play.
I’d replace Wisconsin and Oklahoma with Tennessee and Clemson. Neyland and Memorial Stadium are more known for being raucous. In the case of Tennessee unhinged even. I’d include Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium as well. It might be a tougher place to play than Georgia.
Is this a “bad” list? Maybe not but it can be a lot better. It is also noted that the rankings can change. I’m guessing this will be based on how the player’s dynasty mode or even the real-life team shakes out during the season. As everyone on social media is arguing over the stadium rankings, we can all rejoice that the game is almost here.
