Jose Altuve, was back in Minute Maid Park after missing almost two weeks due to COVID-19 and like Dusty Baker said “Life sure is a lot better with Altuve back.”
Dusty my friend, I agree life is better when Altuve is back but especially when the Astros are winning. The offense banged out 14 hits against Seattle with Altuve going 3-5, Brantley 2-4, Yordan 3-4, Yuli 3-4 highlighting another productive night at the plate for the boys. Can we just sit here and talk for a moment about Yuli Gurriel? The man is on FUCKING FIRE. Something has clicked for Yuli 22 games into the year and the guy is seeing a baseball like a beachball right now and its beautiful to watch at the plate. It doesn’t matter if the pitch is on his hands or a foot off the plate he is going to barrel it up right now. YOU LOVE TO SEE IT. The other Cuban sensation, my son, Yordan Alvarez continues to rake at the plate as he is just spreading the ball over the field. The power is lacking a bit but he is just putting great swings on tough pitches and taking what is in front of him. He is LOCKED in. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a multi-homer night from him here soon.
The pitching staff tonight was elite. Simple as that. Jose Urquidy finally flashed his form we have been accustomed too by going 6 strong innings and getting the win. Bryan Abreu all of a sudden throws 98 mph with a 90 mph slider and that’s not our Bryan Abreu but we will keep that guy. Ryne Stanek is an absolute mad man and I am falling for that crazy hippie who throws 100. Ryan Pressly is just an All Star simple as that. He looks healthy and elite. The trio of Abreu-Stanek-Pressly shorten games massively and that is huge for this team that wants to continue its October success.
