The Houston Astros vs. Minnesota Twins series preview and recap will always begin and end with Carlos Correa. He’s an Astros legend and World Series champion. The moments he had in Houston in the blue and orange will never be forgotten, much like the seven free agent contracts he signed this past offseason.
The Twins sit at 4-2 after the first two series of the season, and we all know the Astros are 3-4 after a lackluster series against the Detroit Tigers. Y’all better get ready for some day games because the start times are 3:10 Central for Friday, and 1:10 Central for both Saturday and Sunday’s games.
The Astros offense seemed to wake up Wednesday afternoon in the last game against the Tigers, so hopefully that rolls over after an off day for this Minnesota series. All of Jeremy Peña, Yordan Alvarez, and Kyle Tucker looked to be absolutely dialed in. José Abreu has definitely been solid, and still seems to have something more to give, and Alex Bregman is so close to lighting baseballs on fire as he sends them into the Crawford Boxes.
The pitching lineups appear to be looking a little bit like this:
Friday, game one: José Urquidy vs. Sonny Gray
Saturday, game two: Luis Garcia vs. Joe Ryan
Sunday, game three: Hunter Brown vs. Tyler Mahle
Much like Framber Valdez and Cristian Javier against the Tigers, I expect Urquidy, Garcia, and Brown to bounce back after their lackluster first starts of the season. Somewhere between six to seven innings from each of them in their starts is what I believe will happen. It’ll be a bit chilly in Minnesota, so maybe that throws them off, but we will have to wait and see on that.
I’m currently 0-2 on my series picks this season, so out of respect for all of us Astros fans, I will not be picking this series. The Houston Astros vs. Minnesota Twins series preview will end without a pick. How do you think the series will turn out?
