Dear “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga”,
Allow me to begin this open letter by saying I’m included in this. I was not able to attend opening weekend as I was in New York. It pained me to see your opening weekend box office numbers because I knew I was apart of the problem. As I take accountability, I now speak on behalf of every movie goer who did not attend opening weekend. No film of this caliber should score just a measly $32 million over the course of Memorial Day weekend. After seeing you, I know that we cannot go silently without commenting on this. Director George Miller put together one of the most imaginative and stylized action movies ever, and this is how we repaid him. In this apology, I will express my appreciation to every aspect of the film because it’s deserving of that.
We’re Sorry, Cast Members.

We’re so damn sorry, Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth. It’s extremely clear that George Miller has earned a level of trust to be able to pull the kinds of performances that are in his Mad Max films. Taylor-Joy is a goddamn star. Her range has been displayed thus far in her career and now she shows that she is a bonafide action star. Her intensity and physical work in Furiosa are headed with an emotional drive within her character that is downright electric. Anya Taylor-Joy is just outstanding in this film. Hemsworth also deserves praise for his antagonist role. He is an absolute maniac that commands the screen in every frame he is in. It’s a role unlike any other in his career and Chris Hemsworth showed tremendous commitment.
To the rest of the cast, we apologize. Everyone knows exactly what film they are in. Displaying absolute lunacy with each respective character, but with enough restraint to not distract. As I mentioned before, Miller has commanded enough trust with his vision to get entire cast on his side and it shows. Everyone is a standout. Everyone is memorable. We’re sorry, guys. Not enough people saw y’all act your asses off.
We’re Sorry, Crew Members.

I now need to take time and speak for everyone by apologizing to this outstanding crew. This shit fucking rocks. Rarely do you ever get a film this imaginative and boundary pushing with its style. Everything from the individual costume pieces to the detailed wasteland locations, everyone did their job and immersed the audience.
The film looks amazing. Every framed full of attention and planned out carefully. Expert blocking and lighting. On top of all that, the action is filmed beautifully. Downright some of the greatest action ever put to film. The production design helped fuel that fact by designing some of the craziest fucking vehicles of all time. All of them have their own unique look and just looks so electric when put to a scene. Thew stunt work also deserves an apology because those people got PHYSICAL during each sequence.
All in all, we (as a movie watching society) need to go down the handshake line and apologize to this crew. Very rarely do you get a cohesive unit such as this. All because of us, they may never get to work on another Mad Max film. Painful.
We’re Sorry, George Miller. So Fucking Sorry.

All George Miller wants to do is make Mad Max movies. That’s all he wants, man. Studios grant him large sums of money so he can take all his crazy friends and a bunch of apocalyptic vehicles to the Australian desert. All of that just to make a banger film for us. The audience. And this is how we treat him. Keep in mind, the man is fucking 79 and he’s putting some of the most care and attention of detail into blockbuster epics than most. Miller eloquently built a world (or lack there of) full of insanity and high octane situations. Now we have lush character building and arcs motivated by emotion and normal human traits.
Now, we may never get another Mad Max movie again. We may never get another Furiosa movie again. Because theaters are dying. The movie going experience is withering away and becoming a wasteland. Like what I did there?
“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” is an amazing action blockbuster that is unique in every aspect. It is truly something to behold and should be experienced on the silver screen. So, please go see this if you have the time. I cannot stress it enough.
I’m sorry, “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.”
Sincerely, movie watchers.
Watch Movies.
