Just four races into the season and we’ve already got folks talking about Christopher Bell and the #20 JGR Toyota as the team to beat in 2025. Of course, that’s what happens when you win three races in a row. Now NASCAR heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the 2025 Pennzoil 400.
Phoenix delivered yet another exciting race but at this point, the biggest question is can anyone stop Christopher Bell?
2025 Pennzoil 400 Entry List
For the first time in 2025, the field for a NASCAR Cup race is made up of only the 36 chartered entries. There will be no open cars in the field on Sunday when the green flag waves at Las Vegas.

The heavyweight bout won't be in the ring on Sunday. 😤 pic.twitter.com/ps7bOZQWOF
Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a true 1.5-mile track. Unlike Atlanta earlier this year, this will not be a drafting-style track. As these 1.5-mile circuits have produced some incredible racing in the NASCAR NextGen car, I’d expect more of the same for Sunday’s Pennzoil 400.
Unlike last week at Phoenix, NASCAR will not have option tires for Las Vegas.
22025 Pennzoil 400 Race Predictions
Two names that immediately jump out as favorites for Sunday’s race are Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson. Larson has been dominant at Las Vegas winning two out of the last three races at this circuit.
We already talked about Bell above and Vegas is another track that he’s run well at previously – including finishing second in the fall here last year.
Who else in the field has a chance to win Sunday’s race?
Joey Logano looked like he was going to be a threat at Phoenix before a penalty sent him to the back of the field and forced him to burn a set of the option tires early on. He won the last time NASCAR came to Vegas in the fall of 2024, as well as in 2022 during the fall.
Kyle Larson’s Hendrick teammates also hold wins at Las Vegas with both Alex Bowman and William Byron having been to Victory Lane at Vegas in the spring.

However, for my race winner pick on Sunday, I’m taking Tyler Reddick. Reddick nearly claimed victory in this race last year and tends to run well at this type of track. Look for the #45 to end the reign of dominance from Christopher Bell.
