Now the ripple effect widens as Conference USA will be looking for a replacement for one of their premier programs. The College Football world now looks to Tarleton State is the obvious choice to make the jump to FBS competition and join Conference USA.

The Tarleton State Texans have an 121-year history. They were a prominent Division II program until they made the leap to FCS in 2020. The Texans made their first FCS playoff last season, defeating Drake until losing to, defending national champion, South Dakota State 42-31.
