BASEBALL IS BACK!

After a wild 5 months that has brought the entire world to a screeching halt, baseball was played at Kaufmann Stadium under the lights and for a few hours a sense of normalcy was back again. Lance McCullers Jr. took the mound and picked up where he left off from Spring Training, he went 5 innings gave up 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 6. The kid made it look effortless and looked like he barely broke a sweat tonight. He sat all evening 94-97 mph with just straight filth as his secondary pitches.

Yeah, fucking nasty. That will do LMJ see you on Saturday

If you blinked you literally missed the Astros first run of Summer Camp, no it wasn’t a Springer Dinger that was launched into the Midwest but just a good ole fashion baseball run. Springer lead off on a 4 pitch walk where Mike Montgomery looked like he had not thrown a baseball in a few months. Springer moved over on a wild pitch, Altuve then launched a ball to the warning track dead center where Springer tagged easily up to third base. Then Bregs, [THE MVP OF THE 2020 SEASON calling it now] hit a bullet down the third base line to score Springer. All of that happened in about .5 seconds.

The Astros did Astro things with a little bang in the 4th where Reddick and Maldonado [because of course] went boombah for a pair of 2-run shots.

The new skipper Dusty Baker, looked dashing in his gloves and mask in want seems like his final journey to chase the one thing that has alluded him his entire coaching career, a ring.

He pulled the starters after 6 innings and got the young pups some run as it looks like with all the uncertainty in the world you can almost be certain teams will have to use their COVID squads at some point in the 60 game sprint showdown.

Edit: Cy Sneed = Filthy, Straw= Gamechanger

Empty Stadiums

Summer Camp Games

No Handshakes and High Fives

But

For three hours of our night it felt normal for the first time in months. We will take that.
