The Apollo Cinematic Universe is Here!

For those of you who don’t know, we at Apollo Media have broadened our horizons a bit over the last few months. As part of our quest for world domination, my film and tv podcast @1TakePod has been added to the Apollo Podcast Network. We try to give real reviews that real people can use (and we tell bad jokes). But that’s not all! Me and my co-hosts Royden and Teej will be mixing in some written content along with our podcasts and live streams.

We’ll be bringing all sorts of content to the blog regularly. Things like movie/show reviews that might not make it to an episode of the pod. News stories. Release date roundups and trailer breakdowns. All that jazz. We’ll have a couple running blog series, we’ll even be covering some events and film festivals as those start to come back post-pandemic.

Speaking of events, our first one, Comicpalooza 2021, is going down right here in Houston in a couple weeks. Comicpalooza is an annual event for comic lovers, sci-fi/fantasy nerds and really anybody who likes tv or movies. In years past, Comicpalooza has seen plenty of high profile celebrity guests. Past attendees include Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones, Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie from the MCU, and legends like Chuck Norris and Levar Burton. After taking last year off due to COVID-19, this year’s lineup includes stars such as Giancarlo Esposito, Mario Lopez, Danny Trejo, Carl Weathers, professional wrestlers Christian Cage and Britt Baker and many more. The event is happening at the George R Brown Convention Center July 17th and 18th and you can get passes now!

For those of you who can’t make it, I’ll be recapping the entire event right here on Apollo HOU. Be sure to follow me and the podcast on Twitter so you don’t miss anything we got going on! And subscribe to the One Take Podcast wherever you get your podcasts. WE GLOBAL!
