Opening Day. There’s nothing quite like it. The Astros play baseball today (tonight) for the first time since late October, and it is time to start yet another marathon of a season.
For the second straight year, I’m writing a blog about Opening Day for the Houston Astros, and the team is once again one of the best in the league. However, a bunch of power ranking polls, and AL West predictions say otherwise.
The Astros brought back our beloved Justin Verlander, but lost our beloved Carlos Correa (which nearly all of us saw coming, but continued to get our hopes up regardless). The bullpen is absolutely disgusting with Maton, Neris, Stanek, and Pressly. The lineup is still star filled and is better than nearly every team in the league. Simply put, the Astros are nasty and they’re coming for blood.
