The Houston Astros take 2-0 lead in the ALCS headed into the Bronx.
Framber Valdez had yet another quality start, and came away with the win. Valdez had a costly error in the fourth inning, but ultimately walked away with the lead when he exited after seven strong innings. He even got the Yankees to whiff on 25 pitches which is astounding considering Valdez is a ground ball pitcher. Staff aces do staff ace types of things.
In the third inning, Alex Bregman did the thing.

The kid is back, and that three run homer was all it took to lift the Astros to a 3-2 victory over the Yankees.
The bullpen has been absolute nails this postseason, and Thursday night was no different. Bryan Abreu is a dawg. He fell behind in the count to Giancarlo Stanton, but fought his way back to have Stanton stare at strike three at his knees.

Then, of course the light show had to get started when Ryan Pressly charged the mound in the ninth inning to close the game out.

Pressly had his good stuff tonight, and the Yankees continually show they are not able to hit him.
The Astros have a day off after earning a 2-0 lead in this year’s ALCS. Three games in the Bronx are about to happen, and anything can happen.
