After helping lead the 1st ranked San Fransisco 49ers defense to the NFC Championship Game, the former Texans Pro Bowl linebacker has come full circle in his career. DeMeco Ryans has agreed on a 6 year deal to become the next head coach of the Houston Texans.
Coach Ryans has been praised his entire career for his tenacity and leadership skills. After his playing career ended, he was hired by the 49ers as the defensive quality control coach. This ultimately led to Ryans becoming the defensive coordinator in just 4 NFL seasons and the hottest HC candidate of the offseason.
Now, DeMeco Ryans returns to where his NFL career started in hopes to implement his successful foundation.
Coach Ryans is the 6th head coach in franchise history and is the youngest as well. This is certainly a huge offseason win for the Texans as they look ahead to the NFL Draft. This hire has been anticipated by many, especially the Texans fan base as the fan favorite radiates hope.
