Houston Dash 2023 Schedule: What to Watch

Houston Dash 2023 Schedule Released
via Houston Dash

The Houston Dash 2023 Schedule has been released and now is the time for Houstonians to become women’s soccer fans if you’re not already! After making their first ever NWSL playoff appearance in 2022, the Houston Dash are looking to build on last season’s momentum as the 2023 season kicks off in 44 days. Houston’s women’s professional soccer team has made some exciting moves in the offseason and is looking primed to take a big step forward. The NWSL just wrapped up preseason camps this week, and the regular season will start in March. This year the NWSL regular season will run through October, allowing many of the league’s incredible athletes to take time away to compete in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in July and August without hurting their club teams. The NWSL Championship Final will be played on November 11th.

There’s never been a better year to get into women’s professional soccer and support the greater women’s sports community. Especially for Houston fans. In 2023, the Houston Dash are poised to make another playoff push, the USWNT is primed to win another World Cup, and the revamped NWSL in-season tournament known as the UKG NWSL Challenge Cup will be even more fun because for the first time the regular season slate and the UKG NWSL Challenge Cup schedule will run concurrently.

The UKG NWSL Challenge Cup Explained

In its fourth year, the UKG NWSL Challenge Cup tournament (which the Dash won in its first year back in 2020) will split the entire league into three groups of four teams each. Each team will play a set of double round-robin matches within its group over the course of the six week tournament. The Challenge Cup will be primarily mid week matches played on Wednesdays until the World Cup starts when they will become Friday and Saturday matches.

Following the group stage, four teams will progress to the single-elimination semifinals matches on September 6th. The Challenge Cup Final match will be played on September 9th.

Single match tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here starting at just $12. Season tickets can be had for as low as $34/month. In continuation of an exciting and historic partnership, the Houston Dash are donating $1 from every ticket sold to MD Anderson Cancer Center, the leading provider of cancer treatment in the world.
