Apollo Spring Training: Altuve vs. The Astros

So Wednesday night was weird. In the latest edition of Apollo Spring Training, Altuve faced off against the Houston Astros for the first time.

So last night was pretty damn cool. Apollo Spring Training: Altuve vs. The Astros.

As a baseball seamhead that was everything I ever wanted or to be apart of. The energy of the ballpark was World Series like, the sounds and scenes felt like Carnival, it was baseball in its purest form. Jose Altuve in his country colors, Omar Lopez managing his country, Luis Garcia smiling and waving, oh, and Miguel Cabrera, Salvador Perez and Ronald Acuña Jr. in the lineup. The ballpark was damn near completely sold out on a random Wednesday night in West Palm Beach, Florida that is the power of the World Baseball Classic, that is what makes the game we love so special, it is global.

Jose Altuve, The GOAT.

The energy when the two time World Series Champion dug into the box was palpable, and he did what he has always done and will always do. First pitch hackin, first pitch knockin. Time is a flat circle.

Did anyone expect anything different from the Astros leadoff hitter?

The Rest of it All.

Salvy continues to own the Astros with a monster boombah. Miguel Cabera had a 2 RBI and two out knock that sent the Venezuelan crowd into an electric zoo. The FEW Astros starters and AAA guys coasted to a nice lead before the substitution wave came in. We had the old baseball rules with no pitch timer and that ended up being 3 hours and 51 minutes of baseball baby. 22 strikeouts 20 walks 17 runs. What a wild night in West Palm Beach.

Apollo Spring Training: Altuve vs. the Astros was quite the experience. Hopefully this is the last time Altuve plays against the Astros for the rest of his career.
