BREAKING FUCKING NEWS ON A MONDAY! It’s a major red alert in Houston! Your favorite team, the Houston Rockets, have officially agreed to terms with former Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Rockets did their due diligence on the controversial coach. Last year, Udoka was let go due to inappropriate relationships in the work place. However, it looks like Rafael Stone and the Houston Rockets decided that Udoka would be the best hire for them. Respect to Stone and the Rockets for going with Udoka. Despite the allegations, the Rockets went with the obvious best choice for this young team.
It’s refreshing to hear that a coach, with Udoka’s caliber, is excited to join a young team. All the factors of a possible top pick, possibly $60 million in cap space, and a very young team looked attractive to Udoka. This gives him the opportunity to provide the young guys, like Jalen Green and Jabari Smith Jr, a highly respected head coach that focuses on a high engine offense paired with a hard nosed defense. Their hiring is possibly the most important decision he’s made thus far, for Rafael Stone, and believe that this decision was the best one. Although Nick Nurse was viewed as a possible candidate as well, Udoka most recently brought the Boston Celtics to the NBA finals only one year ago.
