The Dallas Stars won a heated round one series against a tough, although undisciplined, Minnesota Wild team. While the Wild were hard to face off against, the star power on Dallas was too much for them. In come the Seattle Kraken who just took down the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Colorado Avalanche, who have some of the best stars in the league. It’s onto round two where the Dallas Stars take home ice against the Seattle Kraken in game 1.

seggy and roope were two of the best players in the first series and i expect more of that this round. pic.twitter.com/qNggUt8OfF
Roope Hintz is currently leading the entire league in playoff points, and he looks like he’s the best player on the ice night in and night out. He’s tough, fast, and skilled, all of which you need to succeed in the playoffs. I’m banking on him at least getting a point in the first game, if not three points with a few assists to the top line.
The biggest storyline from round one with the Dallas Stars was Joe Pavelski going down in the first game with a concussion. En lieu of that, Tyler Seguin stepped up onto the first line and decided to essentially just be what Pavelski has for the last few seasons. He’s been getting in front of the net for tip shots, as well as doing the dirty work on the boards. Seggy has been injured for the last few seasons, so it’s nice to see him do what he does best, and light up the scoreboard again.
Jason Robertson wasn’t necessarily silent in round one, but he wasn’t the same guy that we saw in the regular season. I’d expect him to round into form this series, especially with Pavelski coming back. You can book Robo getting a few goals this series.
THE DALLAS STARS ARE ONTO THE SECOND ROUND. OTTER IS THAT GUY. ROOPE IS THE BEST PLAYER IN HOCKEY. GIVE ME COLORADO OR SEATTLE. MY BODY IS READY. BUY A SHIRT AND PLAY THAT SONG. #TexasHockey https://t.co/geTs6pinJj pic.twitter.com/mgw7p38Oz8

Seattle has a tough challenge ahead of them, but they did just take down the Avs in seven games. They’ll be on shorter rest than the Stars, and will have more tired legs. They’re an incredibly tough team and they love to do all the dirty work that some teams left in the playoffs don’t like to do.
I’d expect game one to be a loud and rambunctious crowd in Dallas, and maybe some fireworks early in the game for the speedy Stars. Seattle lost the regular season series against Dallas, 1-2, but you can basically throw all of that out the window now because playoff hockey is so much different.
Round two is set to get underway for these teams Tuesday night in the AAC as the Dallas Stars take home ice against the Seattle Kraken in game 1.
