The Houston Astros are coming off of back to back series wins, and are looking for more as they come back home to Houston to face off against the other Chicago team, the Chicago Cubs. While the Astros offense still needs to find its footing, the pitching staff appears to be rounding into typical form in the middle of May.

The bullpen shut down the Chicago White Sox last series, and against the Angels, the starting pitching was lights out. I’d expect more of the same against this Chicago Cubs team, and hopefully the offense can add some more firepower.

The Houston Astros will be throwing their big three pitchers, Framber Valdez, Cristian Javier, and J.P. France. While the Chicago Cubs will be throwing James Taillon, Justin Steele, and Drew Smyly. Once again, the Astros should have the pitching advantage, but we all know it’s baseball and anything can happen.

All three games will have a start time of 7:10 p.m. CT. I’d expect Yordan Alvarez to continue his tear through teams this series with a handful of extra base hits. We’re nearing the return of Jose Altuve and Astros fans are getting a bit excited about the changes to the lineup that will ensue.
