After a nailbiter of a game seven against the Seattle Kraken, the Dallas Stars have moved onto the Western Conference Finals. They are halfway through the gauntlet that is the Stanley Cup Playoffs as the Dallas Stars look to stay golden in Las Vegas for round three.

The Dallas Stars have played two very different teams in the previous two rounds. The Minnesota Wild were an extremely physical and undisciplined team, and it took six games for Dallas to prevail against them. In round two, the Seattle Kraken were a fast team, and scored in bunches when they did score. Obviously it took seven games to get through the Kraken, and now Vegas has the rest advantage over Dallas.
Vegas just defeated the Edmonton Oilers and even though the series went six games, it seemed that they were able to control the games how they wanted to. Edmonton has arguably the two best offensive powerhouses in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, and Vegas was able to shut them down to win the series.
While Dallas doesn’t necessarily have a McDavid or Draisaitl, they have an offense of four lines that are able to score against anybody. The top line of Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, and Joe Pavelski was the best line in all of hockey, and have continued their offensive firepower in the playoffs.
I’d expect Jason Robertson to get back to putting the puck in the net this series, and Roope and Pavs will be a huge help in that mission. Robo has been a bit silent throughout the first two rounds, but I believe you could see a pep in his step during the last few games against the Kraken.

Vegas has a team full of dudes, and they’ll be a tough opponent for the Dallas Stars. They’re an experienced squad, and have been to this stage of the Stanley Cup Playoffs quite a lot since they’ve joined the league. They’re fast, physical, and have the star power in their top lines that are needed to win a Cup, but Dallas has those exact same traits. It’s going to be a dog fight starting Friday night in round three.

The job is only halfway finished for the Dallas Stars as they look to stay golden in Las Vegas for round three.
