If you’re a baseball fan, you undoubtedly know two umpires names. Ángel Hernández and Joe West. And if you live under a rock, yesterday’s Ángel Hernández Astros/Yankees game was incredible. Must see TV if you ask me.

Astros fans have seen Hernández and West blow games for missed calls plenty of times over the last few seasons. I’m not sure anything compares to how the game was called Sunday afternoon. Both teams had calls that were some of the most egregious calls the game has ever seen.
Sure, some of the missed calls were on the paint, and the umpire could have just been super strict on his zone that day. But we’re dealing with arguably the worst umpire/referee in all of sports, so he does not get the benefit of the doubt.

Both Astros and Yankees fans and broadcast were flabbergasted by a majority of his calls. 23 missed calls in a single game is something that should never happen in the major leagues, yet, it’s something that could regularly happen if Hernández continues to be employed by MLB.
One of these days he’ll retire and we will all be set free, but yesterday’s Ángel Hernández Astros/Yankees game was incredible for all the wrong reasons.
