Can you hear the music? I can. That’s “Down With The Sickness” by Disturbed. That’s Bulls on Parade. That’s the music of a .500 ball club.
The Houston Texans have defeated the New Orleans Saints 20-13 and are now 3-3 going into their bye week. Earning their win total from last season in just 6 games. Just like the media predicted, right?
Just like the 5 games prior, there is always good, bad, and ugly shit. Let’s jump in.
The Good

So much good. The Texans were set for perhaps their biggest test of the season thus far and they showed up big time. This was a huge team win. The star of this game was coaching. DeMeco Ryans and co. cooked up a winning plan and out coached a very talented roster. FLOWERS. Meco had that defense flying around at the end of the game.
CJ Stroud continues to be The One. Going 13-27 with 199 yards and tossing a pair of tuddies and a pick. He was making big time throws (again) while displaying insane poise and leadership qualities (again). Offense certainly did its job in the first half. Run game looked good, offensive line did great, and Dalton Schultz returned to the simulation becoming the safety blanket for Stroud. Vibes are vibing on offense. AGAIN.
Defense was putting on a mammoth bend-don’t-break performance. Daring the Saints offense to score on them in the redzone. GOTTA BE A DAWG TO KNOW A DAWG. This defense will continue to grow this season and beyond, surely putting the league on notice.
This was a huge team effort that paid off and it must feel good for the boys to be .500 at the bye.
The Bad

There really isn’t much here to be honest. CJ throwing his first pick? I mean sure, but he literally got the ball back on the same drive then proceeded to score. Defense allowed a lot of yards? Scoreboard. Who gives a fuck?
I think maybe the only noteworthy bad from this game was that the offense looked lethargic in the 2nd half. That Saints defense locked it down after halftime. It is more about them than us.
At the end of the day, this was a gritty, physical win. Was it pretty? Nah. But that is how this new culture will play. And we can keep appreciating Victory Mondays because of it.
The Ugly

This will sound corny as hell, but “The Ugly” is having no ball this coming Sunday. The bye week is upon us and it has been tremendously fun keeping up with this team weekly. “The Ugly” will be trying to find something to do, I guess. My life will be “The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly” next week.
On a serious note, I hope the guys can rest up and get healthy because a brand new season begins Week 8. We will be expecting Tank Dell back and hopefully Derek Stingley Jr can gain some ground with his rehab. They will be much needed if we want to make a push and become DAWGS.
Onward

The Texans (3-3) will be resting up this week and then will be taking on the Carolina Panthers (0-6) after that. It’s been so far, let’s keep having fun.
