Dogs will be dogs.

What We Learned: Houston Rockets Edition Games 26-27.

These last two games have been so inspiring. Seeing how great Alperen Sengun plays in the post and Jabari Smith Jr. making shots and finding spots is something to behold. I can’t believe things are working out in front of our eyes this quickly.

We have known how good Al-P is, but last night was different. Working in the post every chance he gets and truly establishing his dominance was the real difference maker in the last win against New Orleans.

Of course, we have to understand the greatness we are seeing with Jabari Smith Jr. as well. He is shooting nearly 40% from 3 this season and is finding where he is needed in a new offense. I love it. These last few games have been huge for his overall confidence going in to a much less stressful part of our schedule this season.

Jabari Smith Jr. over the last 3 games:

27.0 PPG

10.7 RPG

1.7 BPG

63% FG

60% 3P

90% FT

Can’t get much better than that. Seeing this development from multiple guys compiled with some highlight plays from our youth movement have made watching the Rockets this week that much sweeter.

After getting a win and some much needed rest heading in to a back to back against the Luka Doncic-less Mavs, the Rockets got to New Orleans looking quite tired in the first quarter but got their flow and closed out a real nail-biter at the Blender last night.

Let’s keep this energy going in to the last stretch of this tough early season schedule. 15-12 is much better than any of us expected.

Merry Christmas to all, even you Jalen Green.

See y’all when the squad hosts the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. What We Learned: Houston Rockets Edition Games 26-27.
