As NASCAR heads to the high banks of Daytona for the penultimate race of the regular season, several drivers will be hoping to claim victory in the 2024 Coke Zero Sugar 400. Tyler Reddick claimed the top spot in the points as they stand with his win at Michigan and looks to keep that momentum going.
Meanwhile, the playoff picture remains extremely tight with several drivers hoping to cement their place in the postseason. Given the unpredictable nature of Daytona, the picture could change drastically after tonight’s race.
Playoff Picture Heading Into the 2024 Coke Zero Sugar 400
- Kyle Larson – Four Wins
- Denny Hamlin – Three Wins
- William Byron – Three Wins
- Christopher Bell – Three Wins
- Tyler Reddick – Two Wins
- Ryan Blaney – Two Wins
- Chase Elliott – One Win
- Brad Keselowski – One Win
- Alex Bowman – One Win
- Joey Logano – One Win
- Daniel Suarez – One Win
- Austin Cindric – One Win
- Martin Truex Jr. +77
- Ty Gibbs +39
- Chris Buescher +16
- Ross Chastain +1
- Bubba Wallace -1
- Kyle Busch -93
- Chase Briscoe -115
Bubba Wallace looked well on his way to another strong finish at Michigan until Kyle Larson spun in front of him leading to a poor finish and a blow to his standing in the points. As it stands, the #23 team is now one point below the cutline.
The stars will shine under the lights.

Ross Chastain is one point to the good while Chris Buescher has a 16 point cushion. Again, I have to drive home the fact that this playoff picture might change drastically after Daytona. Surprise winners and chaos are a recurring theme at the drafting style tracks and we could definitely see someone further down the points standing vault their way into the postseason.
2024 Coke Zero Sugar 400 Entry List
Daytona’s entry list sees Shane Van Gisbergen pilot the #16 for Kaulig Racing as the Kiwi looks to gain additional experience ahead of moving to the Cup Series full-time. Parker Retzlaff will also make an appearance as he pilots the #62 for Beard Motorsports. Joey Gase and BJ McLeod will also make starts at Daytona this weekend, rounding out the part-time drivers in the field while the rest of the regulars remain unchanged as usual.
2024 Coke Zero 400 Race Odds and Predictions
Chaos.
That’s my official race prediction for tonight.
We can predict winners and look at stats all we want but at the end of the day, Daytona has the ability to render all that irrelevant in an instant.
Win-and-in at @DAYTONA?

The current favorite in Vegas is Kyle Busch at +900. Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin follow close behind at +1000 and +1200 respectively. As you can tell from the odds, Vegas knows anything can happen here as well.
For my official race pick I’m going to go with a bit of a surprise winner. Bubba Wallace has had success on drafting tracks before and with his back against the wall, I believe he can get it done at Daytona. Wallace comes in at +1600.
For an extremely longshot, keep an eye on Carson Hocevar in the #77. Hocevar ran well at Daytona in the 500 and comes in at +5500.
With Bubba Wallace as my race-winner prediction, I’ll also take a flier on Toyota at +265. Kyle Busch at +400 to finish at the top of the Chevrolet ranks also feels like a good pick.
