The Houston Astros FINALLY have hired their new General Manager. Dana Brown was recently the Vice President of Scouting for the Atlanta Braves, and according to Andy Jasner’s article on Inside The Astros, was responsible for drafting two of the best rookies from the NL last year, Spencer Strider and Michael Harris II.

As Astros fans, it was incredibly strange, and sometimes stressful, to not have a GM at the Winter Meetings. They haven’t had a GM for almost the entirety of the off-season. The front office took care of some free agent signings, but Jim Crane and the rest of the leadership did their final job of the off-season and got the right guy for the job.
We can also calm down on the Brad Ausmus GM rumors because that would have been an absolute doozy to have to deal with that.
Exhale, Astros fans. Brad Ausmus was not hired as the General Manager.

The Astros are still the team to beat in Major League Baseball, and now the Astros have hired a general manager that will continue the dominance.
