When you take a month long trip to watch and cover Spring Training you see some stuff. A tie wasn’t on the bingo card but when you’re down and out and your streak of wins is on the line we will take it. 5-5 tie. Gross. Apollo Spring Training day 4: a tie is a tie?
Alex Bregman 2023 MVP
The Champ Champ, the kid from Albuquerque, the Bayou Bengal looks incredible. Pause. A 3-3 night at the plate with 2 doubles before calling it a night in the 5th inning, and had a pair of sick defensive plays. I can hear the chirps “Oh, Dez, you’re just saying that cause he’s a friend of the program!” Look, I got the eyes of an old baseball scout and I know BALL. 2023 MVP.

This is sick.

Alex Bregman (@ABREG_1) has admittedly been working on this double play feed to 2B on a ball that takes him to his left and creates a usually tricky/soft throw to 2B.

PITCHING WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS
This isn’t news to any of us but I continue to be impressed by these guys. They just dominate when they get called on. Framber Valdez – Rafael Montero – Ryne Stanek – Seth Martinez combined for 6 innings of 1 run ball and 6 punchies. They had hitters uncomfortable and blew some ched.

Seth Martinez deserves some roses. I absolutely have fallen in love with him over the last year and a half. He just collects outs every time he pitches and it might not be fancy or a dog and pony show, but damn it, is he effective. He deserves to be in this bullpen.
Wednesday we get to watch Jose Altuve play the Houston Astros. Yup, you read that right. Let’s go.
