It was perfect Spring weather for a perfect start to a home stand as the Houston Dynamo came away with another three points last night. The Dynamo defeated New York City FC 1-0 on Anime Bassi’s PK in the 55th minute but it certainly did not come to fruition with some drama on the pitch.
6 POINTS IN THE HOMESTAND?!

BASSI STRIKES AGAIN FROM A PK?!

THATS A WINNING STREAK FOR YOUR DYNAMO!!#HoldItDown for Htown baby!! pic.twitter.com/04qws8eEZT
Chances, chances, chances!
The Dynamo seemed to be in tune from the beginning, as they started out a bit more aggressive in the 1st half. Although the Dynamo only had 3 shots attempted in the 1st half, they were continually giving themselves opportunities on NYC’s half of the field. In total, NYC controlled the possession at 55%, as the Dynamo only held it for 45% of the time. This with the fact that the Dynamo nearly doubled NYC’s shot attempts, 9 for Houston and 5 for NYC, tells you that the Dynamo were willing to take more chances.
Essentially, the Dynamo were taking chances but doing it efficiently as well with a passing accuracy of 85%. The Dynamo were attacking from side to side and use the wingers, especially Nelson Quinones, to play at a pace that kept NYC on their toes. The brand of football isn’t always successful, but when you’re able to connect magic can certainly happen.

Bassi scores AGAIN!
In the 55th minute, Hector Herrera was fouled in the box. However, the foul wasn’t originally called but with some convincing from the players, the referees went to VAR. After a few minutes, a call was made and it was a penalty for Houston…insert Amine Bassi.
Bassi for the 2nd week in a row knocks it in the back of the net for a goal.

Bassi, with precision, knocked off the left post into the back of the net. He was calm, cool, and collected with this shot and got the Dynamo a much needed victory and 3 points.
Incredible atmosphere 10/10 I highly recommend checking out a Houston Dynamo game pic.twitter.com/BVGKHOkZYl

A win streak you say?!
Houston came into this current homestand with two defeats at hand and desperately needed points. The Dynamo, ideally, would’ve taken any points but finishing up at the Shell with 6 points is as good as it gets. After 4 matches, they’re 8th on the table at 2-2-0 and looking to capitalize on their success. Their next game is on April 1st as the Dynamo travel to California to take on the San Jose Earthquakes at Paypal Park. Kickoff is at 930pm central time and you can tune in to the game on Apple TV with a subscription.
Twice is nice! The Houston Dynamo win 2nd in a row with a 1-0 victory over New York City FC.
