The series losses are starting to add up for the Houston Astros as they dropped another winnable series to the Seattle Mariners. However, we may be experiencing déjà vu from another side with the comparisons of Albert Pujols and Yordan Alvarez terrorizing a singular opposing team’s fans for the rest of their lives.
As a kid, Albert Pujols was public enemy number one for me. He hit a homer over the train tracks into the night sky of Houston and my eight-year-old self still has yet to recover. Yordan Alvarez might be doing the exact same thing to young Seattle Mariners fans.
He had the mammoth walk-off homer against them in game one of the ALDS last season, and tanked another three-run-homer in the third inning against the Mariners Friday night. Nightmares are being had by Mariners fans every time Yordan steps up to the plate against them.

Kyle Tucker capped off the game in the ninth inning by hitting a tie breaking two-run home run to seal off a 6-4 victory in game one. Gloved Tucker was a sight to see, and I am still not used to seeing it happen when he decides to wear gloves in colder weather games.
In game two, we witnessed J.P. France’s Major League debut. He pitched fairly lights out if you ask me considering it was his debut, and it was on the road. He threw five scoreless innings, only allowed three hits, one walk, and struck out five batters. I’d consider that one hell of a debut. France is a Mississippi State guy as well, so my allegiances have never been stronger with an Astros player. Great mustache too.
The Astros ended up giving the lead up in the eighth inning on some strange plays in the infield. I’m sure Dez and Brian will dissect it more in the next In the Lab video, but those plays and some iffy bullpen pitching led to giving up the win for France’s debut.
Seattle got up early in game three, and the Astros offense just wasn’t there to get back in the game. They dropped another series, and will now head to Anaheim for a three game set to finish out the West Coast portion of this road trip.
