For a second consecutive week, one man scored the necessary goals for a win and three points in the MLS standings. Jesús Ferreira’s two goals lifts FC Dallas to back to back victories. Ferreira has been on a tear recently and is on what could be a historic run.

After last weekend’s Battle of Texas victory against Austin FC, Ferreira decided to do the thing again. Out of the eight goals he has tallied this season, five have been game winners. Yes, Jesús Ferreira literally saves the day almost every single time he scores a goal in 2023. That’s insane.
Vancouver’s Pedro Vite capitalized on a mistake from Dallas’ goaltender, Maarten Paes, and took the early lead at the 23′ mark of the match. It certainly wasn’t the start that Dallas wanted, and it was a mistake that was completely unnecessary. Luckily for Paes and Dallas, Ferreira was ready to put the ball in the back of the net.
Less than 15 minutes after Vancouver took the lead, Jesús tied the game. It was a bit of a chaotic play. Jáder Obrian danced around a couple of Vancouver defenders and quickly found Ferreira at the top of the box. Ferreira’s first touch looked a bit wonky, but he put a boot on the ball as fast as he could and bounced the first goal passed Vancouver to knot the match at one.

Dallas was dominating the match at halftime. Nearly every stat was in their favor, and they had a ton of chances to snag the lead before the break. Luckily, it didn’t take long for the second goal to go through for Dallas after halftime.
In the 54′, who else would score for Dallas other than Ferreira? Vancouver’s defender didn’t play with a bunch of urgency as Tsiki Ntsabeleng stole the ball with ease and flicked it right over to Ferreira for basically a one on one opportunity with the goalie. Y’all know that Ferreira was going to win that battle.

Dallas marched on home with the full three points and a win, and are now in third place in the western conference. FC Dallas will be back in action this Saturday at home against their other Texas counterparts, Houston Dynamo. They’ll look to continue to be the kings of Texas after defeating Austin FC last weekend.
