The last night in Texas basketball blog will recap each game played by the Texas NBA teams throughout this NBA season. The Spurs have Wemby, Luka is still doing Luka Magic in Dallas, and the Rockets have hope for the first time since James Harden left town. It’s time for Texas to rule the NBA again.

Last night in Texas basketball was the Luka Doncic show again as he posted his second 30 point triple double in three games to begin the season. The Dallas Mavericks were the only Texas basketball team in action Monday night as the San Antonio Spurs are back on the court Tuesday, and the Houston Rockets will play Wednesday.

With no Kyrie Irving for the Dallas Mavericks as he missed the game with a foot injury that happened during the preseason, it was on Luka to make some magic against the Memphis Grizzlies. Magic is what happened as Luka cooked last year’s Defensive Player of the Year, Jaren Jackson Jr., on back to back crossover step back threes.

Another bright spot for the Mavs was offseason addition Derrick Jones Jr. finally finding a rhythm and knocking down four threes for 22 points. Grant Williams added 15 and Tim Hardaway Jr. off the bench tallied 21 points. It was enough to get by the Grizzlies and the refs en route to a 3-0 record to begin the season. It’s the first time since 2004-2005 that the Mavs are 3-0 to start their season campaign.

Dallas Mavericks Top Performer Last Night

We’re not going to have to guess here, it’s Luka Doncic. His final stat line was 35/12/12 and he’s now averaging 39 points through three games. The MVP is loading for Luka.
