This season I’m going to write one good thing about each and every Dallas Stars game. A full season of hockey includes an incredible amount of ups and downs, but I’m on a mission to find the one good thing that stands out that the Dallas Stars did each and every game this season.
We all knew at some point the one good thing: Dallas Stars would eventually turn into many good things. Wednesday night the Stars began their three game Western Canada road trip against the Calgary Flames, and there were a couple of good things that stuck out to me. One was the come from behind win for the second time in two games. The other good thing was that Jake Oettinger is absolutely him.

The Dallas and Calgary games are always a dog fight after their legendary playoff matchup in 2020. However, Jake Oettinger won the night and was the official one good thing. He saved 43 of 46 shots on goal and in the third period mad some wild saves to keep the Stars in front.
It’d be bad of me not to mention Mason Marchment’s hot start to the season where he ended up getting the game winning goal Wednesday night in Calgary. He’s already had two goals called back for offsides after review, so it was good for him to get this one in.

Last thing, Matt Duchene has been so awesome through eight games. One good thing: Dallas Stars game 8 of 82 was that Jake Oettinger might be the best goalie in the league.
